This Nativity Scene is one of six paintings located in the church sanctuary. In 2006, the paintings were out of state undergoing restoration and escaped the fire that destroyed the original church building.
Frances Davis was born in London on November 3, 1855. She came to Juneau in August 1891 and married J. Montgomery Davis, a bookkeeper for the Nowell Mining Company, the following year. Her first religious paintings were done for churches in England. Her works also include landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and portraits.
